CALEXICO
Even My Sure Thing Falls Through
Quarterstick Records

With musical inspirations spurred by their surroundings of the Sonoran Desert, these two guys from Tucson Arizona have proven their true talent.  "Even My Sure Things Fall Through," incorporates a fusion of diverse instruments.  From cellos and organs, to vihuelas and trumpets, the hypnotic melodies of the violin complete the perfection.  Vocalist and guitarist Joey Burns accompanies percussionist and vibes player John Convertino like peanut butter to jelly.  It is easy to say that Calexico doesn't fall under one boring genre of music. Their mariachi flavored alternative yet spicy, country -western rock is more than easy to stomach. Burns puts it best; "There's plenty of spices to choose from in the Calexico kitchen!"
