GARY NUMAN

From the artist that brought you the new wave classic,  "Cars," comes a new studio album  his first since 1997. Dark and eerie as you might expect, Numan's characteristically thick synthesizers have been boosted by crunching guitars and the use of distorted sound samples that reminds one of the modern industrial style of Nine Inch Nails. Numan sings with confidence on songs like "Pure," "Walking With Shadows," and "My Jesus," letting his deepest emotions to quiver into his delivery. Sometimes it's delicate, sometimes he's screaming. After many years of so-so releases where the lyrics seemed to deal with science fiction scenarios, Gary Numan has recorded an album that can be held up to his best work because it is lyrically personal and sonically aggressive.
