ZENI GEVA
10,000 Light Years
Neurot Recordings

It's obvious to see why Japan's notorious Zeni Geva has been called one of the most influential voices of the noise/deconstruction movement in music. For nearly 20 years, K.K. Null and his rotating collaborative staff of nutcases (including guitarist Mitsuru Tabata of the Boredoms) have been creating some of the most hellish, angry, arrhythmic music of there, and, unlike many of their Japanese counterparts, have toured like-minded bands like Shellac and the Melvins. Tame in comparison to some of their previous releases, and adhering to an actual song structure at times, the CD is amazingly disconcerting and cool.
