Trevor Hall n Dirtwire put on a great show at the Majestic. Both had great sets that the sold out audience absorbed with intense diligence and desire. The best part thought is that their tour together has spawned a collaboration song called, “Strength of One.”

MELLO NIGHTS
Online gaming just keeps evolving. Sometimes including music. Mega DJ Marshmello held the first concert ever in the gaming platform Fortnite in Feb, live from Pleasant Park, opening up a new musical avenue that has extraordinary potential for DJ and musicians in general. This event had millions in attendance and the extended set from the event has been at #1 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Chart since it was released. Way to go Marshmello!

MANIC MINDSET
The crazy cool party rowdy multi-dimensional funk, soul, hip hop, heavy bass, electronic musician known as Manic Focus (John “JmaC” McCarten) is coming back! He has toured through numerous times in the past several years and just keeps gathering momentum. Russian born all original electronic composer, Mindex, touts a terrific topography composed of modern synthesizers and effects morphed into lush layers of melodic patterns and textures. While his other works are more upbeat and punchy, this release really takes the sleep deprivation aspect to heart and is dreamy, ambient and other worldly. He was cross culturally raised between Brazil, Mexico, and the Southwestern United States before training in ethnomusicology at Duke University, so his music draws from all of these. Poranguí’s signature World Soul style is created by using analogue hardware loopers, fx pedals, indigenous instruments and his voice to create mystical soundscapes capable of transporting listeners across space and time to a place of healing.
