Abiding by their time honored thrash metal traditions, this legendary Bay Area group blasts your brain with another healthy dose of neck wrecking classics. Originally released in 2008, now reborn and re-released as a deluxe package including a second 4 song DVD disc.

With smooth soul vibes with an Irie mindset, an all star band provides the flowing funk, rippling rock, and hip-swaying hip hop which. These are beautifully buffeted by the socially conscious, incredibly blissful, and heartfelt vocal offerings of this former Soulive singer.

I love thrash metal as much as anyone, but this throwback thrash quartet brings back all the things I don’t love about the music. Starting with the poor cover art, it continues with the cheesy logo and predictable song names. This group has cookie cutter repeat written all over them. I’m sure they worked hard on this, but to no avail, as I have seen and heard this hundreds and hundreds of times before.

Keyboards unabashedly take the forefront of this psychedelic prog-metal experience. Expanses of whirling grooves hook the listener with a demanding intensity that is unfurled with each breathtaking riff and blast.

A conflux of multi-national grooves purveyed by a wide array of musicians and singers teleported, tweaked, and coalesced into a cohesive musical unit, by motivating force and musical visionary Michael Christie. He also produced, recorded, and mixed the entire release.

Reggae is a state of mind for some and comes from the heart for others. This western Wisconsin group continues to find reggae rhythms emanating from both their mind and heart on Come Sunrise. While they may float into some skate as well as some surf rock gusto, this release reflects the struggles and glory that comes from being a touring band in 2010.

Label: Wonderlust Discs and Digital/ GRID Discs

Pulsing through the dimensions of industrial obliqueness, while elsewhere traipsing through a delirious version of synthpop and it’s affectionate afterbirth, affords the room to spend time congealing in the psycho lounge. Currently a trio and formerly ‘Happy Panjoma,’ this Austin outfit is able to ease the rebellious spirits with plush beats and floaty female vocals.

Culminating 10 years of DJ experience and influence have brought us to this multifaceted outpouring. These recording sessions from around the world show off layers of ethnic ambiance, which melt through culture after culture, while spurning a new branch of emotive electronica. Each song is fairly laid back and tells a story which represents a chapter in the artist’s life.

A world-famous humanitarian and musician who plays flute and kalimba, Samite presents us with a charming platitude of bright and flowing instrumental melodies born from East African roots.  Beyond this, Samite has dedicated his life to helping others through music. In 2002 he founded Musicians for World Harmony, a non-profit organization that sends musicians and instruments to poverty stricken parts of Africa. Bravo!

If you happened to be trapped in a spaghetti Western being filmed by Fellini or Coppola, this may very well be the soundtrack. Surf, jazz, country, folk, blues and attitude fill the songs with ambience, emotion and dynamics. Guest vocals from Mike Patton.
