A many faceted award winning Madison based metal outfit that throws down some prog rock, math rock and extreme jazz compositions in an aspiring manner. Somehow the recording is loose/rough/thin in a few areas which diminishes the exuberant talent contained here.

Trin-Tran - Grows A Rose

Hyper maniacal one man band and visual spectacle. Very quirky keyboard riffs are spanked by punchy drums and nonsensical lyrics. Not for the faint of heart or the musical purist.

Cribshitter - Cry A Little Rainbow

Wow! 30 tracks of hilarious musical debauchery and mayhem. Madison brews them eclectic and this is right up there. Careening from poppy punk to country then retro electronica plus various other tangents du jour, all with a squinter of a rainbow in their eyes…

James Eisele - Coming Into A New Age

Sly, cool, and swinging jazz temptations are blown about by the blues guitar backbone this artist is known for. At some points I think I am listening to some forgotten Burl Ives record or something.

La Otra Banda - Cuatro Tunes

A trio of musicians originally from Venezuela, now slowly transplanting to Madison, bring us a teaser of their world beat amalgamation of South American melodies purposely infected with global influences.

Luna Mortis - The Absence

Displaying a polished melodic thrash attack, this Madison quintet marks the major metal scene in a big way! Fronted by a metal maiden and cajoling intricate yet cohesive fretboards furies into the neckwrecking percussion finds solid grounding here.

New Mountain Kickers - Two Days in August

Clever kickin’ bluegrass from the mad city! Catchy auburn tales of an impassioned life are picked and strummed from a vintage view while the female vocals issue forth the call of fun and frolic. The simple melodies touched by twang and an effortless glint appeal to my brain and perhaps yours as well.

glassGhosts - Nevereverything

Disenchanted gothic electronica from Madison with flowing female vocals and occasional violin passages over a jittering harsh and unforgiving industrial backdrop. Disturbing throbbings in the lower registers propel the angst filled musical forms into a tumultuous fruition.

Dujalu - Dujalu

Part English, part Australian and part Ecuadorian, this Wisconsin trio has corralled their various backgrounds to birth a raw and emotive musical force empowered by spirited female vocals in the context of a supercharged acoustic underbelly sprouted with unexpected rhythms and textures.

Perry Weber & the DeVilles - The Riot Act

Tight and spunky root rockin’ blues born from the Milwaukee bustle and emanating from a collection of well seasoned musicians. Outside of the appetizing guitar, bass and drum chops, their authentic vintage sound comes decorated with Hammond organ, harmonica and piano which all compliment the gruff n gritty vocals of Weber to a tee.

Roots Collective - Rising

Patterned after the famously horn fronted reggae bands from the past, this Madison based outfit regales tales of love and unity with a soul felt altruism. By featuring a rotation of three vocalists (including one female) each of these 5 tracks bolsters a separate sound and vibration to be inspired by.
