As of this issue, Maximum Ink is now 15 years old. It’s hard to believe, in fact not many did at the time we started, yet here we are. I will dedicate this issue to two important people to Max Ink… Max Ward and Ken Adell. They are both missed. We’ll have a party to celebrate, we’ll announce it next issue.

GREEN BAY PACKERS: I won’t know until the paper is printed whether the Packers have won the Superbowl or not, but either way, congrats to them for having a great year! I wonder if I’ll be delivering papers in Green Bay to any businesses on McCarthy Blvd. or Rodgers Street.

SUNSPOT: Congrats to Mike Huberty and his Madison based band Sunspot as their song “Go Pack” was recently licensed by Fox Sports and is being aired regionally to promote the Superbowl, as well as receiving airplay on Wisconsin radio stations including Madison’s own 105.5 Triple M. You can see their cool vid filmed on location at Lambeau Field at www.sunspotmusic.com.

REPTILE PALACE: The popular Oshkosh live music venue Reptile Palace caught fire in early January and was forced to close its doors for repairs and will re-open in early February. No one was injured and smoke damage was light. The fire is believed to be caused by an electrical problem in the walls and ceiling. If you’re in Oshkosh, stop in for a drink and some music to help out! keep an eye on the club’s

myspace.com/thereptilepalace for updates.

THE BASTARD DEN: The Bastard Den is an internet radio show that happens Tuesday nights from 4-9pm. Local Madison DJ’s Jimmy K, E-Dub and Stolley host the show and I do a small bit at 5:15pm adding some funny music news, show announcements and local picks. The rest of the show features many local Wisconsin and surrounding area bands plus some sports, comedy and other talk-show banter. It’s a lot of fun so tune in by going to www.bastardden.com or register and log in at www.infernalrockradio.com to join in the chat room.

BRADLEY FISH: Bradley has come back to Madison after six years of living in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel. You might see him cruising around town in his big purple van or his “one free guitar lesson” posters all over the place. Give him a wave or hit his website, www.bradleyfish.com. Could this mean a Bradley Fish’s Electrifried Band reunion? Stay tuned!

SoulflyADVENTURES WITH ELIZABETH: Lizzie got her first pair of “point” shoes, which will allow her to dance on her tip-toes for ballet. It’s a big step! In other dancing news, her jazz routine is installed and she’s hard at work practicing for the annual May performance for Virginia Davis School of Dance. They take this stuff serious, and it’s always a sell out. Grandma Michelle and Grandpa Jerry come home early from Florida every year just for it. Just not too early!

Here is a picture of Lizzie and Nikko getting ready to play in the major snow drifts in our driveway from the recent blizzard.

ps. Congrats to Lizzie for getting straight A’s in school!
