Slash will join Ozzy Osbourne for a five-week U.S. arena tour beginning January 16 in Omaha, NE and wrapping February 22 in Jacksonville, Fl. For the trek with his bandmates Myles Kennedy (lead vocals), Bobby Schneck (rhythm guitar), Todd Kerns (bass) and Brent Fitz (drums), Slash will pull songs from his first-ever true solo album (Dik Hayd Records via EMI Label Services), a certain selection of Guns N’ Roses tunes, a little Velvet Revolver and even some Snakepit gems. (dates listed below).
In April, the guitarist and songwriter released the acclaimed SLASH which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #3 (#1 on the Rock chart, #1 on the Independent chart, and #1 on the Hard Music chart). Digitally, the album also became the #1 overall digital album and hit #1 on iTunes in 13 countries. Internationally, the disc achieved Top 5 chart positions on over a dozen major territories, hitting #1 in both Japan and New Zealand. The 14-song disc features collaborations with vocalists from Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Ian Astbury, Lemmy Kilmister, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.
The current single and video for the song “Beautiful Dangerous” features Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. Watch the eyebrow-raising clip here:

“Extra caught up with Bret Michaels at the 2010 American Country Awards, where the rocker was presenting an award—and he told us that his heart surgery will be happening soon. “In January, I get my heart operation,” Michaels explained. “I’m feeling about 80% right now, but once I get that done, I’m gonna be feeling a lot better!” The singer continued, “I’m just excited to be here. My first music I listened to was country music. That’s what my dad raised me on.”
All of country music’s finest were at the ACAs, including big winner Carrie Underwood, who took home Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Single of the Year, Touring Headline Package of the Year and Female Music Video of the Year. Underwood swooned, “I feel awesome it’s been a great night for sure,” but admitted that she misses new hubby Mike Fisher, who couldn’t attend the event. “My phone’s buzzing right now, bet that’s him!” Other winners included Lady Antebellum—who scored Group of the Year, Group Video of the Year and Group Single of the Year honors, plus, Blake Shelton (for hisHillbilly Bone video), Alan Jackson (Greatest Hits Award) and Rascal Flatts (Decade Award).

BLS’ FIRST-EVER CHRISTMAS TUNE “THE FIRST NOEL” AVAILABLE ON iTUNES NOW; PROCEEDS FROM TRACK DONATED TO THE ZAKK AND BARBARANNE WYLDE FOUNDATION AT ST. JUDE’S
Black Label Society has partnered with VEVO for the world premiere of BLS’ hysterical new video “Overlord.” The video can be viewe here
. The video, directed by Master Cylinder, finds guitar legend Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society in a satire of 70’s Kung Fu movies. Wylde is featured as the Bruce Lee-type action hero (yellow jumpsuit and all) in hot pursuit of the Overlord…in this case an old lady who holds the key to a very special prize. “Overlord” will be the next single from Black Label Society’s latest album ORDER OF THE BLACK; it follows the breakthrough Top 20 rock radio track, “Parade Of The Dead.”
In other Black Label Society news, the first-ever BLS Christmas tune, “The First Noel” is available now on iTunes. The track is a beautiful instrumental which highlights Wylde’s prowess on the acoustic guitar. Black Label Society’s proceeds from sales of the single will be donated to The Zakk and Barbaranne Wylde Foundation at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a charity The Wyldes have long supported. Click Here to purchase the track.
Black Label Society’s first new album in four years, ORDER OF THE BLACK, was released via Entertainment One in North America in August, 2010 and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. Black Label Society is currently headlining The Black Label Berzerkus, Zakk Wylde’s own North American package tour featuring Black Label Society, Children Of Bodom, Clutch and 2Cents (please see below for tour dates).
