Ozzy Osbourne to kick of the first leg of of his North American Tour on Nov 12, 2010 with Halford to open.
Ozzy Osbourne announces second leg of North American dates to kick off Jan, 16 2011 in Omaha, NE. Slash to open all dates on the second leg of the arena tour.
Ozzy Osbourne, who will kick off his fall North American arena tour November 12 in Victoria, B.C—has now announced a second leg of U.S. dates which will get underway January 16, 2011 in Omaha, NE. The six-week 2011 trek, part of the multi-platinum Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s in-progress 8-month world tour, will include a pair of intimate shows: January 26 at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix and Feb 1 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Ozzy’s longtime friend and musical collaborator Slash will open all the concerts on the second leg. Tickets for the Live Nation-produced tour go on sale beginning Friday, October 15.
Osbourne recently completed a run of overseas festival appearances and headlining overseas performances including his first-ever concert in Israel: A September 28 OZZFest show at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv. The Tel Aviv show was described by the www.ynet.co.il as “one of the most important rock events in Israel, if not THE most important…There is no one that can contest Ozzy Osbourne’s charisma and madness. Park Hayarkon was awash with energies and foam at the main performance of the Ozzfest…” Elsewhere www.mako.co.il noted: “We have waited for years and finally it happened—Ozzfest arrived to the holy land. And as much as the anticipation was high—it shrinks in comparison to the real thing that happened on stage. Ozzy Osbourne lifted Tel Aviv with a crazy show. Osbourne managed to lift people up as only he can do. With simplicity and (relative) modesty, the prince of darkness gave his heart and soul with big love to the Israeli crowd and managed to jump and touch every single one of the tens of thousands of fans present.” The www.mouse.co.il added, “The crowd was versatile and colorful, the other bands on the bill were great, but the real star of Ozzfest was, undoubtedly, Ozzy Osbourne. The metal legend last night at Hayarkon Park gave a show worth living for.”
Later this week, OZZY will perform shows in Japan (October 16 in Kobe and October 17 in Tokyo) before returning to the U.S. to headline the Voodoo Experience festival Halloween weekend in New Orleans, LA; he will rock the three-day event at City Park City Saturday, October 30. OZZY will then launch his first leg of solo dates which includes a December 1 show at Madison Square Garden in New York and wraps December 12 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. HALFORD, featuring legendary Judas Priest front man, Rob Halford, will perform on the 2010 dates.
The fall dates will coincide with the October 5 release of an expanded two-CD version of the SCREAM album. This “Tour Edition” package will feature seven bonus songs: a mix of previously unreleased tracks and live recordings. Epic Records has also issued a four-sided vinyl edition that includes five bonus tracks: the three aforementioned songs from the SCREAM sessions and the live version of “Let Me Hear You Scream,” along with the single version of “Life Won’t Wait” (the second single from SCREAM).

“I am sickened and disgusted by the use of ‘Crazy Train’ to promote messages of hate and evil by a “church,” singer Ozzy Osbourne said in response to news that Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church used lyrics from his song at events surrounding Tuesday’s (10/6/10) Snyder v. Phelps Supreme Court hearing. An attorney—a daughter of the church’s founder, along with her sister—paraphrased lyrics from Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” at a post-Supreme Court hearing press conference in Washington D.C.
The church is described by the Wall Street Journal (10/6/10) as a “tiny Kansas church…[that]…preaches that U.S. deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are punishment for American’s tolerance of homosexuality and abortion.”As the Examiner.com noted (10/6/10) of the church, “their flamboyant demonstrations at the funerals of non-gay service members using the events to highlight their belief that military deaths overseas are justified punishment for U-S tolerance of homosexuality. (‘You’re Going to Hell,’ ‘Thank God for Dead Soldiers,’ and ‘God Hates You’ are popular Westboro slogans.).”

On November 26th, 2010 Live at Grimey’s will be released on cd and vinyl and sold exclusively though independent music retailers. On June 12th, 2008, on the eve of their headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, multi-platinum rock band Metallica played an intimate, surprise performance at The Basement, an 150-capacity venue below Nashville record store Grimey’s New & Preloved Music. In attendance were ecstatic Metclub fan club members, Grimey’s staffers, a few lucky friends, and members of local law enforcement agencies!
Now the explosive energy of that hot and sweaty, packed-to-the-rafters show has been captured on the recording Live at Grimey’s, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on the day after Thanksgiving, November 26th (known in retail circles as “Black Friday”).
Live at Grimey’s, which includes such highlights as “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” a blistering “Master of Puppets,” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” will be released on standard CD plus as a limited-edition two-disc set on regular-weight 10” vinyl with a gatefold jacket.
In keeping with Metallica’s steadfast support of independent music retailers, Live at Grimey’s will be sold to those who support Record Store Day, an annual event on the third Saturday in April that celebrates the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the U.S. and hundreds of stores internationally. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in Mountain View, CA, on April 19th, 2008. Please visit www.mymetalclub.com for a list of all participating retailers.

Bassologist James LoMenzo (former Megadeth/ Black Label Society) will take the slot of Billy Sheehan. Sheehan regrets that he must pull out due to unforeseen commitments in Europe and sends his apologies to all. I’m a real big fan of the Ramones and this was unexpected. Good luck on this amazing concert!
Todd Morse hails from The Offspring and will be taking on guitar tactics and several Ramones songs. Billy Close is punk-bass extraordinaire and is a founding member of The Freeze (East Coast Punk Band) and also the punk rock band Klover (Mercury Records).
Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) has confirmed to play along with Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth), Michael Graves (The Misfits), Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint), Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult), Andy Hilfiger (bassologist/Fashion Guru) and Marky Ramone himself for a full concert of The Ramones. You will hear the music that defined many generations and inspired many bands. Marky’s set list is comprised of 31 historical Ramones songs such as SEDATED, K.K.K., PSYCHOTHERAPY, BLITZKREIG BOP, PINHEAD and more!
The legendary Rock Hall of Fame drummer for The Ramones is performing a special all-star fund-raising concert on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 8pm in the MI Concert Hall. Doors open at 7:30pm. The concert is in benefit for the newly-created Marky Ramone Drum Scholarship for Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. I am much honored to be chosen as an artist for the scholarship program. Motivated by the BP disaster and its devastating effects, heavy rock outfit KORN, who have sold more than 30 million records worldwide, take a stand by launching a boycott against using the company’s gasoline while on tour this summer. The band has formally announced that it will not be fueling any of its touring vehicles with BP products and is strongly encouraging other touring artists to do the same.
“The daily images are hard to watch,” says Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. “We need to do our part to let BP know there are consequences for causing something like this. We want to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventative measures in the future. The more costly their punishment, the more money they will spend to make sure disasters like this don’t happen again. It’s plain and simple capitalism.”
In a timely coincidence of life imitating art, Korn’s new album artwork, photography and stage set imagery reference the band’s hometown area near Bakersfield, CA and its bleak landscape littered with oil rigs. The video for the first single “Oildale (Leave Me Alone)” reveals a poverty-stricken area situated among the rich oil fields and tells a story of a young boy’s desire to escape. The video story echoes the band’s own struggle out of Bakersfield. Davis adds, “It was one thing for us to grow up near such poverty. But the situation in the Gulf takes things to a whole new level where people’s lives and livelihoods are affected forever.”
Korn will spend their summer as a headliner on the third annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival playing in 14,000 to 30,000 seat amphitheaters. “We urge the other acts on Mayhem and anyone on tour this year to be with us on this,” Davis also said.
Korn is touring to support their upcoming album, due out July 13, 2010. The title, Korn III – Remember Who You Are, is a reference to the band’s past and is a nod to their roots.
