Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE, PUSCIFER) last week stopped by SuicideGirls.com headquarters for some lively conversation about PUSCIFER’s newest album, “V is for Viagra: the Vagina Remixes”, out today, April 29.
“I, personally, have only done Viagra once,” Maynard revealed. “I took a half a tab and it did nothing. Later that night I took the other half and it did nothing. By the time it actually kicked in I was actually at the airport going through security. Not a fun situation.”
With “V is for Viagra”, Maynard wanted to “abandon the idea of the songs being finite” and enlisted an array of musicians to tackle the remixes including Paul Barker (MINISTRY), Lustmord, Michael Patterson, Aaron Turner (ISIS), Danny Lohner (NINE INCH NAILS), and Dave Ogilvie (SKINNY PUPPY), among others. With titles like “Desert Porn Mix”, “Disco Viagra Mix”, “Guns for Hire Mix”, and “Dirty Robot Mix”, the resulting tracks are as varied and unique as the minds that created them.
James and Chloe Suicide sat down with Maynard at SuicideGirls.com headquarters where he answered a few questions about the remixes, PUSCIFER’s touring plans, and the new “DoZo” music video, which confirms that dildos do in fact make excellent weapons.

Legendary rocker Ted Nugent has a special message for a few Democrats in this video that has surfaced on LiveLeak and YouTube.
As previously reported, Ted Nugent recently shot some of his scenes for the upcoming movie from singer Toby Keith, “Beer For My Horses”, in New Mexico. The movie follows the exploits of small town deputies and best friends as they defy the local sheriff by embarking on an outrageous road trip to save a girlfriend from drug lord kidnappers.
Nugent plays a character named Skunk Tarver. In an article for the Waco Tribune-Herald, he wrote, “Old Skunk is an uppity, defiant, long-haired, over-the-top rock ‘n’ roll deputy sheriff in Jackson County, Oklahoma, who loves bowhunting and guns. He will do whatever is necessary to keep Jackson County safe from criminal danger.” Nugent added, “Willie Nelson returns as a traveling gypsy circus operator and more familiar Hollywood star actors like Tom Skerritt, Claire Forlani and Barry Corbin bring some magical moments to the screen.”
The rocker got involved with the project after getting a call from his pal Keith, who’s working on the flick with songwriter/comedian Rodney Carrington. “Beer For My Horses” is due out later this year.
Nugent is also eying a TV project. He recently met with New Mexico governor Bill Richardson to talk about creating a “special Ted Nugent ‘Spirit of New Mexico’ outdoors show.” Nugent explained, “In fact, the governor and I are working with his departments of tourism, game and fish, and economic development.”

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce another performance slated for the Summerfest 2008 Marcus Amphitheater lineup. John Mellencamp will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Saturday, June 28 at 8 pm.
Emerging on the music scene in the 1970s, Mellencamp has proved to be a lasting figure within the Rock and Roll music scene. Hits like “Small Town,” “Jack and Diane” and “Hurts So Good” remain classics and exemplify his “Heartland Rock” style. His extensive career and musical significance earned him a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which he was inducted into earlier this year.
Mellencamp’s 2008 Summer Tour coincides with the release of his newest album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom, which will be released July 15, 2008.

STEVEN TYLER checked himself into a rehab facility earlier this month after a series of surgeries and post-operative physical therapy (to correct long-time foot injuries resulting from his trademark athletic performance onstage).
“The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but it would require a few surgeries over time,” Tyler says. “The ‘foot repair’ pain was intense, greater than I’d anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet. Make no mistake, AEROSMITH has no plans to stop rocking. There’s a new album to record, then another tour.”

Zude™.com, the social computing platform that provides users an unprecedented level of freedom and design customization, announced today the launch of the online community for Summerfest, “The World’s Largest Summer Music Festival,” attracting nearly 900,000 fans.
In conjunction with the eleven-day festival, to be held in Milwaukee June 26-July 6, Zude.com will auction off three Summerfest packages. Auction proceeds will go to the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The auction, beginning today and running through June 23rd, is being managed by Kompolt online auction agency (www.kompolt.com).
Summerfest selected Zude.com as the platform for its online community. Dubbed “Summerfest Nation” (www.zude.com/Summerfest), the community is designed to help festival attendees make the most of their Summerfest experience. Summerfest Nation features a variety of useful information, such as car pool details, hints to compete in the event’s scavenger hunt, festival shopping guides, as well as everything a fan would need to know about the bands and their music. Zude.com is also giving away free concert tickets to the first 2000 fans to sign up for Summerfest Nation.
Two eBay auctions, sponsored by Zude, will award winners VIP concert packages, including hotel accommodations, tickets and backstage passes to see either The Crystal Method or Filter. In a third eBay auction, the winning bidder and three friends will receive a private behind-the-scenes tour of the 75-acre Summerfest grounds, four general admission tickets, a collectors’ book titled 40 Years of Summerfest, and other festival memorabilia. For more information, please go to www.ebay.com/SummerfestNation.
“We’re thrilled to be playing Summerfest, but especially excited to play a part in raising money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness,” said Ken Jordan, lead DJ of The Crystal Method. “This Foundation helps thousands of people each year, funding research to help find treatments and cures for a number of leading causes of blindness.”
