John Mellencamp To Headline Marcus Amphiteater During Summerfest ‘08

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce another performance slated for the Summerfest 2008 Marcus Amphitheater lineup. John Mellencamp will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Saturday, June 28 at 8 pm.
Emerging on the music scene in the 1970s, Mellencamp has proved to be a lasting figure within the Rock and Roll music scene. Hits like “Small Town,” “Jack and Diane” and “Hurts So Good” remain classics and exemplify his “Heartland Rock” style. His extensive career and musical significance earned him a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which he was inducted into earlier this year.
Mellencamp’s 2008 Summer Tour coincides with the release of his newest album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom, which will be released July 15, 2008.
Summerfest 2008 will take place June 26 – July 6 from noon until midnight daily. The World’s Largest Music Festival and Milwaukee’s cornerstone summer celebration continues to attract the music industry’s hottest stars, along with emerging talent and local favorites.
