CAFE DEL MAR: VOLUME VII

Compiled By Bruno
MCA Records

Café Del Mar understands the concept of place; its sunset-famous Ibiza location on the Mediterranean, as well as the warm-sand sounds of its series of compilation albums--each packed with dance and trace music--grounds listeners in Spain's favorite pleasure spot. Read: gentle winds, warm evenings, and water that matches sky. The twenty-year-old club, hammered with requests for copies of the set playing at the club, has released a series of six albums.  Their newest release, Volume Seven, is splashed with big name artists including Moby and Bush. The staple of European artists seamlessly embodies the relaxed, chilled-out mood of Ibiza in their music, creating an album more listenable than it is diverse. Lux's "Northern Lights" melts into Afterlife's mix of "Breather 2000," followed by Moby's "Whispering Wind." Other highlights include contributions from Aromabar, Bent, and UKO.
