Venus in Furs was established in 2010 with the mission to play surfy dancy punk enthusiastically, loudly and in the service of encouraging drinking, jumping, and dancing. Ladyscissors plays jangly, slinky rock that ranges from REM-like pop to moody, hypnotic rockabilly, a la, early Velvet Underground.

Atlanta-based country musician Alannah McCready attended UW-Madison and played for the Badger’s women’s hockey team and won two National Division 1 Championships as the team’s goalie.
