Seether

Over their ten years together, Seether have developed their sound into a diversified wall of rock. Now, according to Dale Stewart, they plan to jump over that wall and essentially rediscover Seether with a new sense of variety. Stewart comments on their upcoming release, “We’ve really been embracing new sounds. Everything from almost bluegrass, hillbilly sounding songs to the rock sound that we’ve always had.”

Seether has always had a harder edge with songs like “Gasoline” and “Fake It”, but avid listeners would agree that they are an emotionally based group. “Everything that you listen to will have an effect on the way you write, but really there are no rules. We write anything that makes you feel something.

“The music we write, overall, is very somber. But there is an underlying air of optimism. The message has always been that however bad things may seem, just keep your chin up.”

Bits of their dark side show throughout their music, but the message is clear as Stewart states “We are a rock band, and we love our sound.”

Though they have clear strengths in the studio with their emotional ballads and swinging rock anthems, they shine in the live setting like a true rock band should. Stewart explains, “We are definitely a live band. The studio can be fun and creative, but nothing can compare to being on stage. We are road dogs; we love it. That is why we started a band in the first place.”

Seether is still finishing their new album, but plan to hit the road again on a full blown tour once the album is complete. Dale pines, “We haven’t played a show in nine months . . . it feels great to want to play so bad. We miss it.”

Luckily for Dale, Seether will be rolling through Wisconsin on May 11 with Five Finger Death Punch, Hellyeah, Drowning Pool, and Lacuna Coil.

Bringing a renewed stage performance and a with a new album on the horizon, Stewart digresses, “It is a really exciting time, and it’s really good for us to be back out.”
