Arriving at the tongue, only to find it firmly in cheek. Metal + Comedy = Humorcore. This Phoenix, AZ group knows how to throw it down and still clown around. Of note, in Dec of 08 they celebrated their 4,000,000th song play on Myspace and their street team is called “The Dumb.” Pretty awesome!

Billy Sheehan - Holy Cow

Legendary bass player Sheehan shoots this solo load in a predictable direction. Featuring several prominent guest musicians, this release is competent, catchy and progressive within the bass-centric structure.

Black Water Rising - Black Water Rising

These former members of Dust to Dust, Boiler Room, and Stereomud have banded together and produced an appealing determined and cohesive hard rock entry filled with mega fuzz and compelling angst anthems of difficult situations.

Queensryche - American Soldier

Harsh and haunting perspectives of war are discussed, reviewed and examined in the somber gothic progressive metal style that they are known for. As thoughtful and powerful as this release is, I find the most memorable moments also being the most chilling and depressing.

Evil Cowards - Covered in Gas

This quirky dirky mind candy is the musical undertaking of “Electric Six’s” ineffable Tyler Spencer in conjunction with
William Bates from “Fall On Your Sword.” Impetuous and compulsive these 13 beguiling tracks display cantankerous rock with ample swagger, sway and quixotic lyrics.

Paul Gilbert & Freddie Nelson - United States

Teaming up two friends, one a guitar virtuoso and one a rock vocalist produces pleasantly entertaining results. This very contemporary rock is not filled with bells and whistles, just really well written straight forward rock n roll.

Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam - Coming Up For Air

Possessing all the trappings of “The Next Big Thing” including a big name producer (Peter Frampton), slots at a load of summer festivals, and a substantial amount of raw talent, this 22 year old British blues pop guitarist from the Isle of Man is on the fast track to achieving his goal.

Ozric Tentacles - Yum Yum Tree

Certain aspects and members of this band may have changed over the 25+ years of its existence, but their music and trademark sound has never gotten any less psychedelic or enthralling. Founding and final original member Ed Wynne has recently move to the US with his wife and son (who are part of the live lineup) so we will be seeing much more from them!

Vinnie Moore - To The Core

Well versed and well seasoned instrumental guitar rock from a musical virtuoso who has been ‘moonlighting’ as guitarist for the legendary band UFO since 2003! While this album may not shred as metal as his 1986 release, it banters a grace and maturity with the technicality and structure that exemplify him as a leader in this field.

This String Cheese Incident alumni has developed a finely designed array of catchy heartfelt melodies and immediately palatable rhythms. Compelling choruses and interspersed electronica electrify these creations with a broad and jam friendly resonance.
