Episode 029 of Maximum Ink Music Magazine’s Video Podcast features an interview with AJ Lee, singer/songwriter and leader of the Blue Summit Band.
The California-based group is taking its classic Country, Bluegrass and Folk sounds around the US this summer with a few stops in the Midwest, including headlining the Sugar Maple Music Festival in Madison on Saturday, August 6.
AJ and I talk about her upcoming visit, what it means to be considered a “torchbearer” for this style of music, and why she tried to find another career path but felt the call to be a musician; plus, the special person who taught her this art.
