Antennae Jimmy Semens (Jeff Cotton) - D. 1-6-2018 - cancer - 68 - guitarist with early Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band.

Christopher Tsangarides - D. 1-7-2018 - 61 - pneumonia/heart failure - was a British Grammy-nominated record producer, sound engineer, and mixer - best known for working with Judas Priest, Anvil, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Helloween, Angra, Anthem, Yngwie Malmsteen and Tygers of Pan Tang - also played guitar with Exmore, More 2012.

Doreen Tracey - D. 1-10-2018 - 74 - original Disney Mouseketeer on the tv show “Mickey Mouse Club” from the 1950’s and later worked as a publicist for musician Frank Zappa and had a multi-decade administration career at Warner Bros.

Fast Eddie Clarke (Edward Allan Clarke) - D. 1-10-2018 - 67 - Pneumonia - English guitarist for Fastway and Motörhead (1976-1982) which consisted of Lemmy Kilmister, himself and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, he was the last surviving member.

Peter Wyngarde (Cyril Louis Goldberg) D. 1-15-2018 - London - known for playing flamboyant secret agent Jason King (inspiration for Austin Powers) in ‘Department S’ on British TV in the late 60’s and early 70s. He also released a ‘controversial’ spoken word album ‘Peter Wyngarde’ on RCA in 1970, later re-released on CD as ‘When Sex Leers Its Inquisitive Head’ by RPM records in 1998.

Dolores O’Riordan - D. 1-15-2018 - 46 - died unexpectedly while in London for a recording session -  lead singer of The Cranberries.

David Holland - D. 1-16-2018 - 69 - English rock drummer best remembered for his stints with Trapeze from 1969 to 1979 and Judas Priest from 1979 to 1989.

Steve ‘Grizzly’ Nisbett - D. 1-18-2018 - one time drummer for reggae band Steel Pulse passed away Jan.18 / 2018. He was a member from 1977 till 2001.

Jim Rodford - D. 1-20-2018 - who played bass guitar for several British rock groups. He was a founding member of Argent, which was led by his cousin Rod Argent, and performed with them from their formation in 1969 until they disbanded in 1976. He was the bass guitarist for The Kinks from 1978 until they disbanded in 1996. In 2004, he joined the reunited Zombies, whom he had been closely associated with since the early 1960s, and remained a member until his death in 2018. He was also a member of The Swinging Blue Jeans and The Kast Off Kinks.

Hugh Ramapolo Masekela - D. 1-23-2018 - 78 - cancer - a South African trumpeter, flugelhornist, cornetist, composer and singer, a jazz trumpet legend.

Mark E. Smith - D. 1-24-2018 - lead singer of post-punk band The Fall.

Reese “Buzz” Clifford - D. 1-26-2018 - American singer did “Baby Sittin’ Boogie”.

Floyd Miles - D. 1-26-2018 - 74 - blues musician and singer with a 6 decade career - He was a close friend of Duane and Gregg Allman who appeared on many of their recordings.

Heinz Jakob “Coco” Schumann - D. 1-28-2018 - 93 - German jazz musician and Holocaust survivor - transported first to Theresienstadt at the age of 19, where he became a member of the Ghetto Swingers, later transported to Auschwitz, where he came face to face with Josef Mengele. After the war, Coco Schumann became a celebrated Jazz guitarist and played with Marlene Dietrich, Ella Fitzgerald, and Helmut Zacharias, and Coco Schumann Quartet among many others.
